The Grand Strand area of South Carolina has something to suit every personality. Visitors can enjoy the serenity of historic Conway, a leisurely stroll along the river front in the seaport town of Georgetown or the glitz and glamour of big name entertainment, shopping and dinning in Myrtle Beach.

Choose to spend sunny days along the 60 mile stretch of clean and safe public beaches. Beach walkers enjoy the moderate climate year-round. Water sports enthusiasts find comfortable temperatures during many months. Anglers find a great variety of sport fishing from eight piers, or on charter boats during most of the year. Find your fill of championship golf on 100+ courses. Shop till you drop among the hundreds of factory stores, beach shops and trendy boutiques.

The Grand Strand boasts every type of cuisine ranging from the freshest of seafood to the Lowcountry recipes from the Southern plantation days.

As you move south down the Grand Strand you will find the historic seaport town of Georgetown. A recent revitalization in the historic downtown area of Georgetown has produced a wonderful river front harbourwalk, and a downtown shopping area filled with fabulous shopping in the many quaint specialty shops, antique stores ,bookstores and art galleries.

Georgetown's historic district with its 60+ National Historic Register sites can be experienced by motor tram or by a personally guided walking tour. Many homes in Georgetown's historic district date back to the early 1700s making it the third oldest city in South Carolina. For the more adventuresome there are several boat excursions leaving from the harbor area; you can experience a sailing adventure on a tall sailing ship , explore historic rice plantations, or see the Georgetown Lighthouse and explore for shells on a secluded beach.

A visit to the Grand Strand wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Hammock shops and quiet beach of Pawleys Island, or the nationally acclaimed Brookgreen Gardens
